public hearings and comment periods

The National Environmental Policy Act ("NEPA") prescribes a detailed process to solicit public input on a proposed habitat conservation plan. The first public hearing and comment period will request input on the scope of environmental issues to address when evaluating the potential impacts of the plan on the human and natural environment. A second formal public hearing and comment period will be scheduled after the final draft plan is submitted to the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.

Each of these opportunities for public comment will be noticed in advance on this website, in local newspapers, by email to the Stakeholders Group, and other venues. Your comments submitted during these formal comment periods will become part of the official administrative record for the project.
